Barbecue Catering Is The Best Way To Host A Graduation Party!

Barbecue Catering Is The Best Way To Host A Graduation Party!

4 minute read

Graduation is an important milestone to recognize one’s achievements, and we believe in celebrating milestones (from preschool graduation to a post-doctoral degree). Of course, the best way to celebrate a recent grad in your life is with a party featuring barbecue catering from Sonny Bryan's Smokehouse!

Here are five tips for catering a BBQ graduation party.

1. Put on your thinking cap.

Before you get too far into party planning, think about the guest list. What kind of party would you like to throw? A gathering for immediate friends and family? Will you include the graduate’s classmates? Do you want to host a small, intimate family affair or is this a more-the-merrier celebration?

It’s also important to consider the day and time of the event. Consider planning an open house to give guests a chance to stop by and celebrate the guest of honor without needing to arrive at a specific time. Think about your vision and make your plans accordingly.

2. Choose an A+ venue.

Once you know the size of your party, consider the best space for your event. Are you able to host a barbecue in your backyard? If not, consider renting a local park area, forest preserve, or pavilion and bring in your own top-tier barbecue catering. Or if you’re in the Dallas area, Sonny Bryan’s Smokehouse makes barbecue easy and effortless! We will deliver barbecue pulled pork, smoked meats and mouthwatering barbecue sides right to your door (or the location of your event).

Sonny Bryan’s also offers a private room for parties with up to 75 guests. Serving our beloved Texas barbecue in the Mustang Room is an ideal, and easy, way to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of your proud grad.

3. Select a menu that makes the grade.

No matter the party, barbecue catering is always the answer! At Sonny Bryan’s Smokehouse, we offer a variety of delicious smoked or slow-cooked meats and ridiculously good veggies and sides, sure to satisfy each guest’s palate and dietary needs. When you hire us as your Dallas barbeque catering company, we will help you choose the best barbecue catering package for your event – and we’ll even deliver our iconic Dallas barbeque right to you!

4. Spread the word.

Send out your graduation announcements and invitations decorated with school colors. Be sure to include all the important details - the graduate’s photo, any achievements, honors, or awards and future school information. Don’t forget to tell your guests to come hungry for good old-fashioned barbecue!

5. School’s officially out - let the fun begin!

Celebrate your grad with fun activities or lawn games like corn hole or lawn bowling. Leave blank words of advice cards on each table for guests to fill out and place all the advice in a box or jar for the grad to keep. Ask the graduate to take pictures with all of the guests and print photos and place them in a cute memory book to mark the momentous occasion.
